Frequently Asked Questions
What is a certified translation and do I need one? +
A certified translation is a translation accompanied by a signed statement from a qualified professional translator confirming that the translation is complete and faithful to the original document. You need one whenever a UK institution — such as the Home Office, UKVI, a court, a university, or a local authority — requires an official translation of a foreign-language document. Read our full guide on what certified translation means in the UK.
What documents can you translate? +
We translate all document types including birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, academic transcripts, diplomas, driving licences, passports, court documents, legal contracts, bank statements, medical records, immigration documents, and more. If your document type is not listed above, contact us — we can translate it.
How much does a document translation cost? +
Our certified translations start at £29.95 per page (up to 300 words). Pricing is calculated automatically based on the word count of your document when you upload it. Apostille services are available from £149.95. See our full UK pricing guide for 2026.
Do I need to post my original documents? +
No. Our process is 100% online. Simply upload a photo, scan, or PDF of your document through our secure order form. We translate from the uploaded copy and deliver your certified translation digitally to your email. Hard copy delivery by Royal Mail is available as an add-on.
Are your translations accepted by the Home Office? +
Yes. Our certified translations meet the requirements set out by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and are accepted by the Home Office for all visa, settlement, and immigration applications. Every translation is completed by a qualified professional translator and accompanied by a signed statement of accuracy — the format required by the Home Office.
